By Ronak Chokshi This blog is written by a guest blogger from HPE Storage and Big Data team. Today, many organizations are embracing all-flash technology, thanks to its superior performance and better economics. There’s a growing desire in enterprises to “future-proof” their environment with all-flash technologies and address some of the new, more demanding workloads. This is supported by the continued narrowing of cost differential between flash-based solid-state disks (SSDs) and hard disk drives (HDDs). In addition, all-flash technologies deliver additional sustainability benefits to your with lower carbon emissions and lesser energy consumption due to reduced power and cooling than disk-based technologies. However, as customers embrace all-flash architecture, the problem of how to eliminate data silos and protect, manage, and derive insights from data, persists.. HPE is already at the forefront of transitioning our customers to all-flash infrastructure for their primary storage. We continue to invest in all-flash technologies to further transition our customers’ other data and applications to all-flash. To make this a reality we are announcing* today, an all-flash data management solution with our strategic software-defined storage partner, Cohesity. In partnership with Cohesity, HPE already delivers a single data management platform on disk-based HPE servers for enterprises looking to reduce data fragmentation across backups, files/objects, archives, dev/test and analytics – essentially all non-latency sensitive workloads. The new HPE All-Flash solution for Cohesity uses the 1U ProLiant DL360 G10 NVMe Server with 10 small form factor (SFF) NVMe SSDs at multi-terabyte capacity points in a sleek design. This solution allows organizations to extend data management to all-flash data centers using the world’s most secure industry-standard server as the foundation. HPE Solutions for Cohesity DataPlatform are built on the HPE Apollo and ProLiant Gen10 systems. HPE systems combine an ultra-dense and flexible architecture optimized for unstructured data with the ability to easily manage distributed data environments. Enterprises can now run diverse workloads including backup and recovery, file and object, dev/test and analytics on these solutions. The built-in holistic security provides rock-solid protection from any intrusions through the life of the infrastructure. Additionally, Cohesity software’s enterprise-class security features such as immutable backups, encryption and machine-learning based anomaly detection protect your data against cyber security threats such as ransomware. Cohesity is a leading provider of modern data management software for non-latency sensitive workloads. With this announcement, Cohesity introduces the new I/O Boost technology in the Cohesity DataPlatform for flash-optimized data management on HPE ProLiant DL360 G10 server.
