San Jose, Calif. – Feb. 3, 2020 – Cohesity today announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Cohesity as one of its 100 Coolest Cloud Companies of 2020. This annual list recognizes the premier cloud technology suppliers in five key categories: infrastructure, platforms and development, security, storage, and software.

The CRN editorial team selects the 100 Coolest Cloud Computing Companies according to their originality and innovation in product development, the quality of their services and partner programs, and their success in helping customers save money and maximize the impact of their cloud computing technology. In addition to honoring outstanding technology suppliers, the 100 Coolest Cloud Companies list also enables solution providers to identify the most advanced cloud technology players — aiding them in selecting the companies that can best support their cloud service needs.

The cloud represents an enormous opportunity for companies to increase agility, reduce costs, optimize data management, and derive greater value from their data. Cohesity’s disruptive data management technology spans on-premises, cloud, and hybrid cloud models and simplifies and consolidates organization’s data and applications on a unified platform that is natively designed to work across these environments.

Cohesity also solves a critical challenge that customers face globally — mass data fragmentation. With mass data fragmentation, data is spread across a myriad of different locations, infrastructure silos, and management systems that prevents organizations from fully utilizing its value – including but not exclusive to cloud environments. Cohesity DataPlatform brings these silos and workloads together and empowers organizations to manage backup, files shares, object stores, dev/test, and analytics through one user interface.

In a recent global study, nearly nine out of ten respondents (88 percent) believe the promise of the public cloud can be better realized if solutions are in place that can help them solve mass data fragmentation challenges across their multi-cloud environments. Respondents believe there are numerous benefits that can be achieved by tackling data fragmentation in public cloud environments, including generating better insights through analytics / artificial intelligence (50 percent), improving the customer experience (47 percent), and maintaining or increasing brand reputation and trust by reducing risks of compliance breaches (46 percent).

“The IT channel relies on cloud services as the foundation for building modern, transformational solutions,” said Bob Skelley, CEO, The Channel Company. “CRN’s annual list of 100 Coolest Cloud Companies seeks to honor the top cloud providers, whose mission and actions support innovation in cloud-based technologies. Our team congratulates these honorees and thanks them for their commitment to leading positive change in cloud technology.”

“Cohesity’s data management solutions were developed from day one to support hybrid and multi-cloud environments and being named by CRN as one of the coolest cloud companies is further validation of our vision and execution,” said Bill Lipsin, vice president of global channel sales, Cohesity. “We are continuing to disrupt inefficient legacy systems by delivering modern solutions with our public cloud partners, including ‘partner ready’ validation of Cohesity for VMware Cloud on AWS, comprehensive data management capabilities for AWS GovCloud, a new backup service for Google Cloud, and integration with Office 365 and support for Microsoft Azure Data Box. We will continue to deliver innovative solutions and work closely with our channel partners all over the world to help companies secure, manage and maximize the value of their data.”

The new 100 Coolest Cloud Companies list will be featured in the February 2020 issue of CRN and online at www.crn.com/cloud100.
